Spectral techniques for the design of digital systems are often used for design problems that cannot be met by classical approaches. Spectral methods were proved to be efficient in analysis, optimization and testing of digital systems.
The goal of the research is to use spectral techniques in the context of adaptive hardware design. Adaptation reflects the capability of a system to maintain, or improve its performance in the context of internal or external changes, such as uncertainties and variations during fabrication, faults and modifications in the operational environment and the system's requirements.
Algorithms for adaptive hardware, techniques for automatic/self-calibration, and their implementation in evolvable hardware are included in the scope of this research.
