Itsik Bergel received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and the B.Sc. degree in physics from Ben Gurion University, BeerSheva, Israel, in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tel Aviv, Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Senior Researcher with Intel Communications Research Laboratory. In 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Engineering, Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel. His main research interests include interference mitigation in wireless communications, cooperative transmission in cellular networks, and coded caching. He was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing. He is currently a member of the Executive Editorial Committee of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communication.
