{"id":67,"date":"2017-02-05T09:58:49","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T07:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eng.biu.ac.il\/temanad\/?page_id=67"},"modified":"2023-03-22T15:44:40","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T13:44:40","slug":"teaching","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eng.biu.ac.il\/temanad\/teaching\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Overview lecture<\/span>:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/B4dlQQBI2dM\">The past, present and future of computing in the twilight of Moore's Law<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Academic Courses<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>Note that slides and recorded lectures can be found by going into the link for\u00a0each course below.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eng.biu.ac.il\/temanad\/introduction-to-digital-electronic-circuits\/\">Introduction to Digital Electronic Circuits<\/a><br \/>\n\u05de\u05d1\u05d5\u05d0 \u05dc\u05de\u05e2\u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0\u05dc\u05e7\u05d8\u05e8\u05d5\u05e0\u05d9\u05d9\u05dd \u05e1\u05e4\u05e8\u05ea\u05d9\u05d9\u05dd -<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>A third year introductory course providing the basics of digital circuit design in CMOS. \u00a0Mandatory course for all EE and CE students.<\/li>\n<li>Starting with the basic metrics of digital circuit design (power\/performance\/noise margins), through simple models of transistors as digital switches,\u00a0basics of CMOS digital design, and through to advanced logic families and the method of Logical Effort for high-performance digital design.<\/li>\n<li>Accompanied by a full digital circuits lab course that teaches design and simulation of digital circuits on state-of-the-art CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso Suite).<\/li>\n<li>Currently taught by Prof. Alexander Fish.<br \/>\nLast taught at Ben-Gurion University in 2013-14.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eng.biu.ac.il\/temanad\/digital-integrated-circuits\/\">Digital Integrated Circuits<\/a><br \/>\n\u05de\u05d1\u05d5\u05d0 \u05dc\u05de\u05e2\u05d2\u05dc\u05d9\u05dd \u05de\u05e9\u05d5\u05dc\u05d1\u05d9\u05dd - 83-313<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>A third year course, which advances the introductory topics of the Introduction to Digital Electronic Circuits course.\u00a0Mandatory for the Nano-Electronics Track.<\/li>\n<li>This course dives into digital circuit design in light of continuous scaling over the past five decades, discussing both the transistor level effects of scaling and their influence on modern circuit design, as well as further issues in circuit design, such as building memories, arithmetic blocks, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Accompanied by hands-on training upon CAD tools, including Cadence Virtuoso, Liberate, and Mentor Graphics Calibre.<\/li>\n<li>Currently taught - Semester B, 2016-17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eng.biu.ac.il\/temanad\/digital-vlsi-design\/\">Digital VLSI Design<\/a><br \/>\n\u05de\u05e2\u05d2\u05dc\u05d9 \u05d5\u05de\u05e2\u05e8\u05db\u05d5\u05ea \u05d5\u05d9.\u05d0\u05dc.\u05d0\u05e1.\u05d0\u05d9\u05d9. \u05d3\u05d9\u05d2\u05d9\u05d8\u05dc\u05d9\u05d9\u05dd - 83-612<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>A fourth year and\/or graduate course, which teaches how to actually make a multi-million gate Integrated Circuit (IC). Mandatory for the Nano-Electronics Track.<\/li>\n<li>This course teaches the chip design flow, starting from writing synthesizable RTL, through synthesis, place, route and static timing analysis (STA).
